Camels have many many interesting features. From a split lip to pads on their feet instead of hooves. The ships of the desert are equipped to traverse extremely treacherous terrain. One interesting adaptation that a camel has is a double row of eyelashes.

Eyelashes act as a sort of windshield wiper for our eyes. A camel just happens to have double blades on their wipers. A lot of people have never had a chance to go and play in the desert. It’s a boatload of fun. There are huge dunes, no roads, sand as far as the eye can see. Then you run into campgrounds in the desert and they’re full of campers and RVs. A lot of people bring their dune buggies, sand rails and 4x4s to the dunes to party and drive like maniacs.

It’s all fun and games until you get sand in your eye though. You see one day a few years back I was filming a lightsaber battle between Harley Quin from Gotham and Rey from a planet far far away because that’s what a good May the 4th fan film should look like. Unfortunately the actor playing Harley got sand in her eyes at the start of filming because we were dealing with 50 mile an hour wind gusts.

Eyelashes Go Well With Lightsabers

Ok so lightsaber battle in the desert when you can see dust devils (mini-tornadoes) in the distance, bad bad idea. Riding camel back in the desert during 50 mile an hour winds, much much safer. Well at least you can close your eyes and let the camels lashes do the work for you, That’s why they have two rows of eyelashes. They can close their nostrils on command as well. It’s a bit easier than you and I running around in the dust LOL.
